Fond and A~~sing Me~o~ies ____ _

Jean Clements remembers being nominated for Recording Secretary of the Al tar & Rosary Society by Msgr. McNicholas and holding the office for nine years. She also remembers "befuddling" a youngster with information about his family that he could not understand how she knew. Jean is our resident school historian.

Sr. Phyllis remembers showing off to the first grade boys how well she could play ball, only to fall smack dab on her face. Fortunately, the only thing hurt was her pride. She has been an asset to our first graders since 1987.

The Egan family remembers their son John (one of eleven) spying through a telescope to see their reaction at a teacher's conference.

Marie Finnegan's fondest memory was being president of Mothers' Club.

Florian Furmanek was proud to have been a CCD teacher for 11 years.

Mary Lou Harker's fondest memory is collecting names on a petition to have 94th Street renamed Msgr. McNicholas Drive and presenting the street sign to him at his 40th anniversary party. She also enjoyed watching the nuns watch her M.C. group perform "Seven Nuns in Las vegas"

Debbie Janicke had a great time performing in a ttMock Fashion Showtt for Mothers' Club and looks forward to her son graduating in 1999.

Mayor and Mrs .' Kolb are most fond of their children's Baptisms and First Communions and their sons serving mass.

Sue Kolek enjoys being the master photographer for Giant Steps.

Lillian McAninch remembers fondly "Mr. Brown", Fr. Welsh's dog, attending class with the children. (Circa 1944).

Naomi (Talley) McCahe fondly remembers the end of World War II, and saying prayers of thanksgiving under the leadership of Sr. Marie Therese.

Elizabeth Meyer is fond of having been a girl scout leader.

Anna B. Matejka still enjoys memories of her husband in the "Black Face Shows".

Joan Murray fondly remembers having to march into school with music played on a victrola, Sr. Rosari making tomato soup for the children on cold days, her and her husband Ed being in the violin group and Ed working with other men of the parish to help build the

addition to the school and convent.

stanley Porembski is the remaining original member of the first class of Commentators initiated by Fr. Lydon.

Yvonne Woulfe has nothing but fond memories of st. Gerald Parish.

Rita Zarnecki remembers the church upstairs from the old school as a "little country church".

A special thanks to the following families who took the time to answer our survey. We hope you enjoyed recalling all your memories as much as we enjoyed reading them.
