The Graduate Program runs for two years and involves practical and technical rotations, including six months at another OceanaGold mining operation, ensuring your skills enable you to reach your full potential.

From day one you will have career prospects, responsibilities, and opportunities to apply to your theoretical learnings.

The industry qualifications you will work towards are mutually accepted in mining across New Zealand and Australia. These include: the NZ WorkSafe Certificate of Competency (COC), the WA Quarry Manager and First-Class Mine Manager Certificates of Competency. You may even secure a permanent role with Oceana Gold (New Zealand) at the end of the two-year Graduate Program.

SUPPORT

We offer an induction program followed by on-the-job learning opportunities designed to expose you to a wide range of mining issues. We also offer a development program designed to support you in being work ready with supervisory & leadership skills, with the ability to provide feedback and direction to help you progress your career as a Mining Engineer.

UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIPA four-week mid-year placement, providing you with industry experience to help you get your career underwayOur Undergraduate Internship is a four-week mid-year placement in either an Open Pit, Underground or Technical Services team. Completing a project within the business unit, your placement will contribute towards your graduate work experience requirements. As well as giving you the opportunity to experience life living in New Zealand and help you decide if our Graduate Program is the right fit for you.
