How do your ancillary tasks link with the main production?

• Throughout my production, I used various aspects to link my main video to the ancillary tasks.

First of which was the use of a red and black guitar. As well as using these two items within my music video, I also included them in my CD digipak and my advert. This is commonly done in the music industry as a means of allowing the audience to become aware of 3 Doors Down’s brand

I also incorporated the guitars on my spine of the album. Throughout my video, the black and red guitar are highly visible within the band

shots. Therefore, I decided to use them for my spine as well.

As you can see, I used the fret board as the main section. After which, I added the logo and the writing.

• As well as linking my ancillary tasks with the main production, I have also linked them between one another.

• For example, I used the 3 Doors Down logo on both the CD front cover and the magazine advert. This is done to help the audience easily link the two. Because a magazine advert may only be viewed for an extremely short period of time, this product had to be clear and crisp, while using visual aspects to help link it with the album cover. This helps the audience to successfully pick out the album when situated on a shelf among hundreds of others.

Consequently by using the official 3 Doors Down logo, commonly found on their own album covers, I conformed to this convention by allowing my products to become easily recognisable and linked between one another.

• Two additional ways I used to conduct the previous aspect, was by using the same text for the song title on both the digipak and the advert.

•Also, the picture of the drums I added on the back cover of the digipak, was also used for the magazine advert. This set of drums was also present in the music video it self, again linking them all to each other

Inside Disk• As for the actual compact disk

As you can see, it is a disk from the drum set played in the actual video. I felt this was a perfect opportunity to incorporate such a design as the drums play a vital role in the music piece.

In conclusion

I feel I have used many aspect to link my ancillary tasks both, together, and to the music video. I have used many visual aspects including dark colours to help transition between one another. I believe my products follow conventions of real media productions and have been successful throughout.
