Ancient Greek Olympics
The first Olympics were held in 776bc. They held chariot races and running races. The statue of Zeus is thirteen metres high and covered with ivory and gold. They put it there to honour Zeus. It would have been very hot and overcrowded, and the water supply was poor.
Pankration wrestling was an event held on the 4th day.
