servant to the husband and produce sons so the care down the family name

● The Song Dynasty primarily had beliefs rooted mainly in Buddhism. Soon there came a revival of Confucianism, called Neo-Confucianism

Advances/Achievements Song Dynasty● They invented papermaking,

gunpowder, compass, alcohol, mechanical clock, tea production, silk, acupuncture, iron smelting, rocket, bronze, etc.

● What they lacked in politics and military, they made up for a booming economy, arts, and sciences

● Theatre, poetry, and music became popular

against the Tang Dynasty which significantly weakened the dynasty

Song Dynasty● Song Dynasty lacked in military power

and political unity● They struggled with many territorial

threats until they were invaded by the Mongols
