Analysis of professional EDM double page

The magazine’s double page spread that I will be analysing is a MixMag magazine which was published for November 2015. I have chosen this magazine as the genre on the magazine is EDM ( Electro Dance Music ) which is my genre. The company ‘MixMag’ is one of the biggest EDM magazine companies in the world also the magazine was released recently which shows what magazine companies publish now.

Masthead – Unique font, medium sized font size to make the Masthead stand out from original text. Contain 1 word.

Columns – Columns have been used to separate different artists shown at the event with text for each individual artist. Text is medium/small font size, with plain text style.

Images – Multiple images are used showing the original picture from the featured article to promote the featured article to entice the reader to read the text.

Colour scheme - Double page spread uses the same colour scheme as the contents page's colour scheme. The style of the page is similar to other pages in the magazine as this is keeping with the colour scheme of the magazine. The page’s colour scheme is black with bright pictures to make them stand out.

Images – Multiple images are used showing the original picture from the featured article to promote the featured article to entice the reader to read the text on the other side’s page.

The style of the page is similar to other pages in the magazine as this is keeping with the colour scheme of the magazine. - The language used is informal as they are establishing a relationship with the reader. - One some of the images the artists are giving a direct address. - Columns are used to write text about individual artists instead of 1 main artist. - Uses the same colour scheme as the rest of the magazine.
