• The tongue suites the title ‘The Rolling Stones’. The word ‘stones’ could connote the word ‘words’ and as words roll of their tongues hence why they have a picture of a tongue.

• The colour red and the image of the lips connotes the idea of pop art which is relative to the genre of the music.

• This is there 50 year anniversary logo, as they have involved ‘Fifty Years’ and ’50’ in the title ‘Stones’.

• Signature dance or movement is head banging and their tongue out with a certain hand position called ‘sign of the horns’ which is associate with the genre rock. The tongue in this logo connotes this rock signature.

• Research through colour psychology, red is a colour which presents liveliness, energy and basic but powerful. I’d say this colour connotes their music because they produce lively yet basic music. They produce so much energy into their music for the audience.

• Nirvana defined is a superior state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. This explains why the smiley face looks like a death, poison face.

• In colour psychology, yellow negatively means emotional fragility, depression, anxiety and suicide. This relates back to the meaning of Nirvana but also contrasts against the fact the face is smiling.

• Black as a background works really well because yellow is a bright colour therefore it stands out really well which will attract the audience.

• Red associates with the theme royalty and royalty is associated with the name ‘Queen’. Therefore the logo combines well together.

• A Lion is known as the king of the animal tribe therefore this connotes back to the theme of royalty and contrast with the name ‘Queen’.

• The phoenix is a mythical creature which is known as to be strong and powerful which is what the Queens role is.

• The ribbon in the middle is shaped as a ‘Q’ for the title Queen. Surrounding the crown and being central is quite important as its attracting the eye of the viewers as well as framing the crown.

• As they are a rock pop band, they have used majestic animals to show their power and hard-core theme in their music.
