Channel four (the tv broadcasting channel which I want my documentary to be aired on) logo is transparent in parts to allow the image behind it to show through, makes the image seem a ‘part of’ the channel. Integrated image. Not too large/imposing

A ‘pun’ can be linked the the idea that channel four tries to be alternative and relate to younger audiences and do things differently to other channles. This makes the advert stand out – it’s almost “wrong” and funny, something we may not see in a bbc one advert.

Channel four adverts mostly have this shadow effect on the text, black and white, in order to make it recognisable as channel four this is something I may do in my product

Has an advert here within the advert – shows what the advertised program is sponsored by. Could have my product sponsored by something music related – would have to be a large company as channel four is a large institution

Tells you what the program is – name of it. The time it is on (must be a later advert in the lead up to the program as it gives the date of release as “tonight” and tells you it is part of a series

Which section of the advertising series is my advert going to be in?

- There is a series of adverts which come out before the release of a program. Normal the first one is a long time before it is going to be aired and is a ‘teaser’ which doesn’t give a lot of information. It then, as you get closer to the release, gives more and more information about the product.

- Due to the nature of my ancillary task, I think I will make my advertisement later on the series of advertisement so that I can give more information about the product.

Shows you that channel four and this other company ‘dazed’ made the music nation series.

Blurred image with the title of the series over the top

Division into three shows different aspects of the documentary

Colour scheme is dark – may represent the type of content within the msuic nation series

From these two images, I notice that channel four does a very different style of newspaper advertising and mainly focusses on the main images. They normally have the half transparent channel four logo on it and incorporate text over the top with a highlighted white or black colour. The images are usually photoshoped and look like they have been intentionally.

Still image from my documentary of the ‘old camera’ footage. This shows I am considering my audiences feedback as they said they preferred the use of both old and new footage from a band

Still image from my footage on the new camera. Of gig of DEADSNAKES (main feature band of my documentary). This will show the action of gigs which is something my audiences like – therefore having this in my advert will entice the types of audiences.

Image I layered over the top of the previous slide. I did this on photoshop and it shows that I am editing editing in my product. Image of Ben the guitarist of DEADSNAKES.

Photoshopped the two previous images over the top of each other using photoshop. This gives a ‘dreamy’ effect to the image. This ties in with the music of DEADSNAKES as their music is considered as quite dreamy and light pop rock genre.
