UTSTARCOM OPTICAL SOLUTIONS

UTStarcom offers a comprehensive suite of transport

products, supporting transmission speeds ranging from 155

Mb/s to 10 GB/s, that enable multi-speed integrated transport

for TDM, 10/100/1000M Ethernet and ATM services.

The integration of applications including Generic Framing

Procedure (GFP), Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme

(LCAS), layer 2 Ethernet switching and Resilient Packet

Ring (RPR) technologies, greatly improves the efficiency

and capacity of data transport. In addition, the product

platform supports various complex network topologies and

includes a sophisticated multi-service management system.

Telecom carriers building Metropolitan Area Networks

(MAN) and local networks based on the NetRing platform

accelerate the time to launch full-service transport and

multi-service access services, thereby increasing their

competitive advantage.

The NetRing transport platform may also be deployed in

conjunction with UTStarcom’s mobile telephony,

broadband and narrowband integrated access, softswitch

and 3G solutions, to deliver a comprehensive suite of high

demand services to subscribers.

The NetRing platform comprises three distinct product

families: NetRing 600, NetRing 2500, and NetRing 10000.

The NetRing 600 family includes:

NetRing 600CNetRing 600C is able to add/drop various low-rate SDH

signals directly into/from 155Mbits SDH signals. It provides

cross-connect functionality at VC-12 and has built-in native

Ethernet service support.

Dimensions (H x W x D): 44.45 x 430 x 260mm

NetRing 600DNetRing™ 600D is designed to operate in harsh, outside

plant environments, where a temperature-controlled room is

not available. The NetRing 600D is airtight, waterproof,

dust proof, and tolerant of extreme temperatures and

humidity. Potential deployment scenarios include: remote

areas along freeways, cell tower sites, and atop poles.

Dimensions (H x W x D): 360 x 240 x 160mm

NetRing 600ANetRing 600A can be flexibly configured to deploy OC-

3/OC-12/EC-1 networks. It supports multiple network

element (NE) types, including TM, ADM and DCS, and is

able to add/drop various low-rate SONET signals directly

into/from OC-3/OC-12 SONET signals. The NetRing 600A

provides cross-connect functionality at the VT1.5/STS-1

level. The system complies with Telcordia GR-253-CORE.

The NetRing 2500 family incorporates an innovative

MESH-Bus and distributed cross-connect architecture to

service access capabilities. It can be widely

deployed across various layers of the MAN.

chassis design and can provide electrical protection for

NetRing 2500P and NetRing 2500S utilize the same

optical card, Ethernet/RPR card and ATM card.

NetRing 10000 Family

NetRing 10000-INetRing 10000-I is designed for backbone network and

core layer MAN deployment scenarios. It supports

seamless migration from 2.5G to 10G for multi-service

transport. NetRing 10000-I offers a large capacity

high/low order cross connect matrix featuring an

innovative architecture, which combines centralized

cross-connect and partial MESH, as well as M:N hot

backup for centralized power. Fully 10G compatible,

NetRing 10000-I also supports VC-12 cross-connect and

traffic add/drop capabilities, which greatly facilitate

service deployment.
