Rain Curtain
Before the entrance is a
curtain of rain but obviously
that is not the way in,
however as you approach
the water stops and allows
you through. You scrurry
inside in case it starts again
which of course it does as
soon as you are through.
Option: 2
Waterfall
A divided water fall cascades into a
pool where amongst the foliage on
the edge of the pool turtles and a
gharial are seen lurking
INSIDE
Centre feature approx 4 x 4m: A large tree trunk grows out of a pool and parrots
and birds sit on the branches. Water is continuously dripping into the pool and
contributing a pleasant background ambience. In the corners and along the walls there
are three levels of depth in the scenery – in front trees and foliage in silhouette,
animals behind and the background on the wall. The scenery extends up and on to the
near ceiling. Birds and monkeys sit in the trees. A python is wound around a branch
eyeing the well fed diners – his supper perhaps!
Facing wall after entrance
INSIDEAs you enter the jungle is alive with bird cries, parrots squawking, monkey
screeching. After being seated you get a little used to this but then notice that the
light is fading and the noise of a storm is heard. The animals are unsettled because
you hear elephants trumpet and lions roar. Suddenly the foliage parts and a leopard
is seen roaring, eyes flashing at diners seated within metres,
this is repeated with other animals in
other parts of the restaurant. As the
gloom descends the eyes of the birds,
monkeys and other animals are seen
blinking from the foliage. Thunder is
heard and rain falls in a torrent,
suddenly there is a huge crash of
thunder and a lightning flash and the
lights go out - but just for second.
What a shock. But no storm lasts
forever and slowly the lights come up
to a nice fresh sunny day…….until the
next storm.
INSIDE
The sequence will repeat so that during the average time diners are in the restaurant
they will experience the storm once thus maintaining the novelty and impact. There
will be continuous minor events to sustain interest and excitement such as a cheeky
parrot unbraiding diners for not finishing their food and activity in the trees
