As shown in Figure 1 CDMA Wireless Intelligent Network (WIN)
adopts standard intelligent network construction plan. All the
intelligent service is triggered directly via the subscriber data
and the service provided is very convenient and flexible.
ZXC10-IN system is the self-developed wireless intelligent
network series products by ZTE Corporation. ZXC10-IN product
design strictly observes the relevant technical regulations for the
first phase of WIN. The products include the items below.
--Service Control Point (ZXC10-SCP)
-- Service Creation Environment Point (ZXIN10-SCEP)
--Intelligent Peripheral (ZXC10-IP)
--Service Management Point (ZXC10-SMP)
--Service Management Access Point (ZXC10-SMAP)
---Mobile Switching Center/Visitor Location Register/Service
Switching Point (ZXC10-MSC/VLR/SSP, ZXC10-GMSC/SSP)
-- Home Location Registration/Authentication Center (ZXIN10-
HLR/AUC)
--Voucher Center (ZXC10-VC)
-- Short Message Service Center (ZXC10-SMSC)
The above equipment can be not only used collaboratively with
each other, but also interconnected and compelled with the
equipment from other manufacturers via the standard interfaces.
The typical structure of the WIN is shown in Figure 1.
Chapter 1 System Architecture Introduction

Introduction to the Module Function ZXIN10-SSP: It offers the SSF, CCF and CCAF; if no
standalone IP is used, it also offers a part of SRF. It can
trigger IN service according to the CAMEL subscription
information (CSI) or number segment; it accepts the SCP
operations to control the call process; it also offers the
embedded SRF.
ZXIN10-SCP: It is the core of ZXIN10. It offers the SCF and
SDF and can accept the management from the SMP. It
provides the service logic processing program (SLPS)
required for the processing of the IN service and the data
required for offering IN services. In general, the SCP consists
of two parts: SCF and SDF. The SCP and the SSP are
connected through the SS7 network.
ZXIN10-SMP: It offers functions such as access management,
service management (for example, online service loading),
service data management and network management. It
implements network management, service management and
system management in the IN system. It can load/unload
the IN services newly developed and provided, and manage
ongoing services; especially, it can coordinate the requests
from different SCF and SDF for a given service. It can also
manage and modify relevant IN service data and network
data of the IN.
ZXIN10-SCE: It offers functions such as service logic
compilation, service data creation, syntax check, service
simulation execution, service performance test, service
conflict detection, and service creation. It enables the IN to
implement new services quickly, flexibly, and conveniently.
As a component of the IN, the SCE provides the user with a
means to develop services rapidly.
ZXIN10-IP: It offers functions such as DTMF
receiving/sending, message sending/receiving, voice mailbox,
voice synthesizing, and voice recognition; its record
announcement function offers more than three languages for
option. It provides the resources required for the information
exchange between the user and the network. The resources
include user-defined voice announcement, synthetic
language/speech recognition devices, DTMF number receiver,
signal generator, switching matrix connecting users to the
resources, telephone conference bridge and information
distribution bridge. The IP can be connected directly to one
or more SSPs, or to the SS7 network.

ZXC10-IN Network
Overview This chapter provides a general introduction of IN system
network architecture.
This chapter contains the following topics.

Networking Mode of ZXC10-IN-SCP and ZXC10-IN-SMP 5
ZXC10-SMAP Remote Access Mode 6
Networking Mode of ZXC10-IN-SCP and ZXC10-IN-SMP ZTE WIN equipment ZXIN10-SCP and ZXIN10-SMP can provide
flexible networking modes according to the specific conditions,
There are three types of networking modes, in which, the
connection within the same local network and the connection via
DDN are the primary two types. If the scales of SCP and SMP
are relatively small, the combined mode of ZXC10-SCP and SMP
are adopted for the further saving of the hardware investment.
1. ZXIN10-SCP and ZXIN10-SMP are located in the same LAN.
It is the most common networking mode, featuring lower
hardware cost, sharing a set of equipment such as the
Ethernet switch and router, and faster information interaction.

2. ZXIN10-SCP is connected with ZXIN10-SMP via the DDN
dedicated line.
It is suitable for the case that ZXIN10-SCP and ZXIN10-SMP
cannot be put locally, for example, a set of SMP managing
multiple sets of remote SCPs. The detailed connection figure
of the mode has been shown in the structure diagram of
ZXC10-SCP and ZXC10-SMP and will not be repeated here.
ZXC10-SMAP Remote Access Mode The ZXC10 system networking is fully based on standard TCP/IP
and is implemented via LAN or WAN. The main networking
modes include DDN, ISDN, X. 25, PSTN and access server. They
are described as follows.
1. DDN Mode
DDN mode can be divided into two modes: synchronous DDN
and asynchronous DDN.
For the synchronous DDN mode, a router should be
configured at the SMP end, and normally 64 K synchronous
leased line is adopted. When accessing less than two remote
SMAPs, the CISCO1720 + WIC-2A/S router (two
synchronous interfaces are provided) is used. In case of
more than two remote SMAPs, the CISCO2620 router (at
most one 8-port module can be provided) is recommended.
In case of even more SMAPs, the CISCO3640 (two 8–port
modules can be connected) or the CISCO2620 combined with
E1 module (30 64KDDNs can be provided) is preferred.
Chapter 2 System Architecture Introduction
Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION 7
Each router synchronous port should be connected with the
base-band MODEM. The specific model should be consistent
with the base-band MODEM model in the DDN node machine
of the office. The interface cable model of the router and the
base-band MODEM is V35 or V24 (refer to the base-band
MODEM interface for detail). One DE853 transceiver (product
of DLINK Company) is required for every router to convert
the AUI thick cable port to the RJ45 thin cable port. The
base-band MODEM is connected to the DDN node machine
via the twisted-pair.
2. ISDN Mode
When there are no more than four remote access points, the
SMP center uses 2B + D ISDN router (CISCO2620 + 4-port
ISDN BRI module) or CISCO1720 (only 1-port ISDN BRI
module can be configured). The CISCO1720 can be
configured in the remote SMAP. In case of multiple SMAPs,
multiple ISDN 2B + D routers or CISCO2620 + ISDN-PRI
module can be configured.
3. X.25 Mode
The X.25 mode is similar to the ISDN mode. Select a
machine at remote SMAP as the network gateway, insert an
X.25 network card, and connect such network card with
synchronous frequency band MODEM as the MOTOLAR3265
or ETECH3648 series via the V.24 interface. Connect the
network card with the X.25 network with that MODEM. At the
NM center, one or more X.25 private lines can be used.
However, as the X.25 private line usually has a low rate, only
using one line may cause serious link congestion.
4. PSTN Mode
PSTN mode needs less investment, but has a low speed and
unstable line performance. At the SMP, select a router that
can be connected with multiple asynchronous interfaces. The
CISCO2620, for example, can be connected with a 16-port
module or 32-port module. At the remote SMAP, dial directly
with MODEM. Select the 56K MODEM. The types are
TD3624VDC (AC/DC) and TD3366 (AC).
5. Using ZXIP10-AS Access Server
This mode makes full advantage of the PLMN resources. The
SMAP dials with the MODEM to access from the local PSTN,
while the toll access runs by way of the PLMN. The detailed
connections are: SMAP-MODEM-PSTN (local) –GMSC-TMSC-
AS-SMP.
