Chose to use untrained bricklayers

Building collapsed trapping 5 men inside.

UK statistics show that untrained labour were involved in over 75% of the demolition accidents in the last three years and that contractors employing that labour were generally submitting lower tender prices and depressing the market for quality demolition contractors.

CCDO Scheme.

The National Demolition Training Group, via the CCDO scheme, and our own efforts in educating clients has led to a better trained workforce and that can only benefit the industry in the long term.

Training in Europe

Training in demolition varies from country to country and it is now time for the European Demolition Association to look to standardise training across the EU to ensure that we have a cross border level of competency.

The Institute of Demolition Engineers

The IDE decided at the last Council meeting to change the membership criteria to accept applications from EU and the Rest of the World and we are now able to offer a new route to IDE INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP
