Why Dog Lovers Love Thornton Park

Just east of Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando is the

stylish neighborhood of Thornton Park. The area’s

historical homes, cute bungalows, and cobblestone

streets give the area an old-world European feel.

Whatever your interests, Thornton Park is a haven

for dog lovers and their four-legged friends.

Restaurants

903 Mills Market has freshly prepared food and a selection

of craft beer. The outdoor patio is open and spacious and

offers shaded seating if you’re looking to stay out of the sun.

Dexter’s is another restaurant that has dog-friendly

outdoor patio seating. The quiet location makes it the

perfect place to relax with an adult beverage or two. The

drink menu includes wines, champagne, ports, and sherry.

Burton’s Bar and Grill is a laid-back bar with an old jukebox and a wide selection of beer. This dive bar is a favorite with locals. Play darts, jam out to your favorite song, or chow down on some popcorn.

Farmers Markets

The Orlando Farmers Market is held every

Sunday at Lake Eola Park. Vendors sell fresh

produce and arts and crafts. But that’s not

all. Several booths sell homemade pet treats,

pet supplies, and pet travel accessories.

On Saturdays, the Winter Park Farmers

Market takes place at the old train depot. Stroll

down aisles lined with fresh produce and plants.

While you enjoy the renowned kettle corn, your

dog can meet new friends as the farmers

market is very popular with the K-9 crowd.

As if Thornton Park couldn’t get much

better, they now have their very own

farmers market! Fresh! is held every

Wednesday evening near Lake Eola Park

from 5:00pm – 9:00pm, and yes, it’s dog-

friendly.

Outdoor Space

Residents of Thornton Park have Lake Eola,

an oasis within the heart of bustling

Downtown Orlando, right on their doorstop.

Feed the majestic swans or take Fido for a

run around the lake.

Some boutique owners even have water

dishes outside!

Thornton Park is a thriving district within

Downtown Orlando where dogs and their

owners alike will experience a friendly and

welcoming atmosphere.
