WHAT’S GOING ON AT THE PANAMA CANAL MUSEUM?

The PCM has entered into a partnership with the University of

Florida (UF) that will result in a transfer of the PCM collection to UF by 2012

and provide opportunities for preserving and digitizing the collection, obtaining

oral histories, and supporting research.

Here's the Due Process on display at the Cocoa Beach

Surf Company.

In January, Bob Hughes, author

of Ahorca Lagarto, spoke at the

Museum’s (PCM) winter luncheon.

From January 25—February 5,

over 80 people enjoyed the PCM’s

fundraising cruise to Panama and the

western Caribbean on the Celebrity

Solstice.

Enjoying the Museum's January potluck luncheon are (from left to right) Catherine Goodrich, Dick Morgan, Julieta Morgan,

Cheryl Russell, Chuck Hummer, and Sandy Hummer.

(Left to right) Gerry DeTore, Richard Grimison, Scott Roche, Zack Steele, and Jon DeTore take a breather after loading the Due Process on the trailer for its ride from the PCM on Florida's west coast to its new home at the Cocoa Beach Surf Company on

Florida's east coast.

◊ Exhibits—View a wide ranging display of PCM historical photos and artifacts; special exhibits on famous Panama Canal visitors; Canal Zone and Panama health; the Panama Canal pilots; the always popular town site maps; and a UF exhibit featuring government materials and maps; collections highlighting the construction of the canal, and visual and photographic materials from the history of the American Era of the Panama Canal.

◊ Silent Auction—Bid on gift cards, Panama Canal memorabilia, UF memorabilia, and

much more—from Thursday through Saturday.

◊ Store Items—Purchase the 2010 Al Sprague collectible ornament; the 2011 Al

Panama Canal memories for UF oral history interviewers.

◊ Yearbooks—If your BHS or CHS graduation year ends in a 0 or 5 and your class is
