What is a Grading & Drainage Plan?

• The purpose of a "GRADING & DRAINAGE PLAN" is to direct the movement of the soil and water; thus protecting infrastructure from flooding while accommodating ADA requirements.

Why Grading and Drainage Engineering?

• Natural flooding is documented for City of Rio Rancho……Floods of 2006 most recent

• Protect human life, housing, utilities, infrastructure and large-scale economic development

• Recommended drainage infrastructure designed to convey up to and including 100 year storm – 2.90 inches in 24 hours

Why do we need them?

• Required by City of Rio Rancho Ordinances and Policies

• Required by SSCAFCA Regulations and Policies
