Daily class work and HW

On a typical day in math class students…

•Get out homework + assignment sheet•Complete a math warm-up•Correct warm-up and HW•LESSON – teacher led group investigations and discussion•And smile because they’re having fun!

We’re piloting new math books this year!Fall: CPM (College Preparatory MathematicsSpring: To be determined by district

Math Homework

•HW from the CPM book is reviewed daily•Each student marks their own assignment sheet after teacher checks it for completion•Assignment sheet is collected at end of unit

o 2 = complete and work shown

o 1 = incomplete or missing work

o 0 = HW not done, or less than half complete

Math Composition Book

• Compilation class notes

• Should be reviewed for quizzes and tests

• Kept all year

Math Warmup and Class Work• Kept in 3-ring binder in appropriate divider until the end of the chapter.

• Packets for each section due at the end of the chapter on test day.

• Students will receive one grade for each packet.

• Assignments must be complete with work shown.

Math Grading•40% Tests•30%Quizzes•20% Class work•10% Homework

√+ = 100%

√ = 85%

√ - = 70%

Science Spiral

Due at end of chapter

Table of ContentsGraded on:

completion of assignments + current Table to Contents

Science Homework

Collected unless assignment is done in spiral

6th Grade Camp•Camp Bloomfield in Malibu

•March 1 – 4•Cost is $225.00 (Twins: $225 + $169)

• Must be paid in full one month prior to camp

• Offering payment plan of $45/month (paperwork already went home)

•Optional Parent Info Meeting: October 7th (6:30 at LC, in the gym)

Trimester grading• Grades are not cumulative

• Grades found on Q (for password information contact Gina Sillers in the office)

• Please check your child’s progress regularly.

Absences If a student is

absent: Homework missed is

turned in per district policy.

Students are excused from missed quizzes.

Missed tests are usually made up on the day of return.
