If successful, the School will be held every two years, at different locations.

The School has two main goals:

1. Train young researchers in physics and technology of instrumentation. There is no other school covering this field.

2. Develop links and cooperation between EIRO organizations - on all levels, from students to senior researchers (lecturers). ( limit number of participants)

EIROforum is a partnership of Europe's seven largest intergovernmental research organizations.

EIROforum fosters joint initiatives, combines resources, and shares best practices.

The idea of a School on Instrumentation comes from the Instrumentation Working Group, which also organizes the event. The concept was approved by the DG assembly meeting in May 09.
