Graduation Requirements

o 24 Core Credits for Standard Diploma • 4 English Credits • 4 Math Credits – must include Algebra 1 and Geometry • 3 History Credits – World History, American History, American

Government/ Economics with Financial Literacy • 3 Science Credits – must include Biology • HOPE class • 1 Performing Arts Credit • 8 Elective Credits

o 1 of the 24 Credits must be an online class (Economics on campus will fulfill this requirement)

o Must pass FSA Reading Exam or have a passing concordant score for ELA (ACT or SAT)

o Must pass Algebra 1 EOC Exam or have a PERT, PSAT, SAT, ACT Math passing Concordant Score

NEW POLICY FOR 2021 GRADUATES

Seniors who fail a 2nd semester class needed for graduation…

WILL NOT walk in the May Graduation Ceremony

YOU WILL Attend (in person) Summer School at Centennial and once completed, you will have the option to walk in the

Summer Graduation Ceremony

HOW WILL THIS WORK?• YOU WILL complete ALL work that was not done or turned in with options to retake any quizzes or

tests that were failedOR

• Edgenuity (ONLY if teacher approves & if there is a class available for the class you failed.)

Must earn a “C” or higher for Grade Forgiveness. Summer School is Monday – Thursday, 8 to 12 pm (Dates to be determined)

Summer Graduation is during the 2nd or 3rd week in July

Due to Pandemic and the unknown, logistics are subject to change

Senior Fees Include the following:

Diploma & embossed diploma cover

Graduation tickets and programs

Flight of the Eagle senior pin

A senior t- shirt

SENIOR FEES $35Senior fees are due by October 31st, 2020

Your student will not get a diploma until the senior fees are paid.

NOVEMBER 1, 2020 – SENIOR fees go up to $45YOU must create an account if you haven’t already

A Promise Is A Promise

SLPS promises to hire declared students in education upon graduation from college who meet certification eligibility requirements.

If interested… meet with your School Counselor

Declare teaching as your intended field of study in college

You will receive the “A Promise Is A Promise” certificate upon graduation from high school

Once you earn your college degree in teaching you can begin your career as a professional educator with St. Lucie Public Schools
