Set in the picturesque village of Acton Trussell, The Moat House is your quintessential Grade II English country manor house, sympathetically converted into a luxury four star hotel and wedding venue.

Surrounded by tranquil calming waters The Moat House has been in The Lewis Family since 1955. The manor house was first opened as a village pub, restaurant and wedding venue in 1988 giving the family over 25 years of experience in helping couples plan their perfect day.

Every couple’s dreams are different and we never forget that the day is all about you. You will benefit from the extensive experience of our wedding coordinators who will work with you to ensure that all of your requirements are treated with the utmost care and exceptional attention to detail.

07 WEDDING PACKAGES

Exceeding ExpectationsTo help make the planning of your wedding as simple as possible we have created a wide range of wedding packages, the majority of which include:

Seasonal, local and most importantly delicious food. Great food is at the heart of all great celebrations and can make yours truly memorable.

Drinks to welcome, drinks to dine and drinks to toast. Our drinks packages are designed to help you celebrate in style.

Flowers have been used in weddings since the beginning of time as a way of showing love and well wishes to everyone. Our wedding packages include a top table arrangement and stem vases for each of your guest tables.

Your very own banqueting manager to guide you through your day and act as master of ceremonies if required.

Chair covers and co-ordinated sashes are provided to complement your colour scheme.

Our cake stand and knife are included in all packages for this most significant ritual.

Your evening reception gets underway with our DJ inviting the bride and groom onto the dance floor for their first dance. Our packages include both DJ and dance floor until 1.00am.

Your evening buffet will be served to your guests as a night time feast or tasty treat.

The perfect end to your perfect day, an overnight stay in our magnificent bridal suite.

With options to suit all budgets and a level of personal service that will exceed even your greatest expectations, The Moat House packages include all you could wish for on your special day.

The Moat House is fully licensed to hold civil marriages, partnerships and renewal of vows ceremonies, offering a variety of rooms to suit all sizes of parties from 4 to 140 guests.

Below are details of our licensed rooms and the capacities they can hold:

The Acton Suite, overlooking the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal can accommodate up to 140 guests.

The Colin Lewis Suite, situated on the first floor of the manor house, with exposed timber beams can accommodate up to 60 guests.

The Library, our traditional oak panelled library also overlooks the canal and is able to accommodate up to 30 guests.

The Pavilion, ideal for small and intimate gatherings during the summer months. Situated on the edge of the moat, the Pavilion can accommodate up to 25 guests.

If you choose to hold your ceremony at The Moat House, the room will be decorated with chair covers, coloured sash of your choice, red carpet and floral arrangement.

For civil ceremony room hire charges, please speak to your wedding co-ordinator.

Your day does not have to end following your evening reception. Each newly married couple are offered complimentary overnight accommodation in our fantastic bridal suite, whilst your guests can take advantage of preferential rates in any one of our 40 beautifully designed luxury bedrooms.

Breakfast the next day is served in our Orangery Restaurant. You and your guests can recapture and share the most memorable moments of your day, whilst indulging in a freshly cooked, full English breakfast.

Why not extend your stay to the night before your wedding and get ready here at The Moat House. Enjoy a relaxed dinner in our bar or restaurant with friends and family, before sleeping soundly in the knowledge that we will take care of your every need as you prepare for your very special day.

How to Find UsFrom the M6Leave at Junction 13 and take the A449 towards Stafford. At the first island take the third exit turning right opposite the Argos Distribution Centre signposted for Acton Trussell, cross the canal bridge and bear right through the village. The Moat House is at the far end of the village close to the church.

From the A34At Brocton Crossroads (on the Stafford side of the Chetwynd Arms Public House) turn towards Penkridge, take the fourth turning right and The Moat House is on your left.

From Penkridge A449At the island in the centre of Penkridge turn towards Brocton. Continue along this road for two and a half miles, after crossing the canal take the first turning left. The Moat House is then on your left.
