MAIZE URAD DALSUGARCANE RED CHILLIPicking of Chilli has begun in many parts of India. Crop is at flowering stage in Orissa, Haryana & AP. But present rainy weather may cause viral infestation at some places. Transplanting is being carried out in north India. Good monsoon over central India will ensure better output of Red Chill.

Maize crop is at flowering to cob formation stages in almost all growing regions. The crop has entered grain formation to harvesting stages in UP and Bihar. Weather is good for flowering, seed formation and development in AP. Prevailing conditions are optimum for flowering and pollination in MP.

A bumper Cane yield is likely this year. K’taka would also contribute a good crop due to good weather. Crop has reached grand growth stage in major growing states. Forecast showers at many places will enhance the chances of insects/pests while recession of monsoon may call for irrigation in certain parts.

Urad is healthy under ample rains in Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand. Sowing area in central Maharashtra has been less due to deficient rainfall in growing regions of Marathwada although monsoon in Vidarbha has been quite satis-factory. Some area to shift to Cotton and Soyabean in Marathwada and Vidarbha.
