Today’s Question:

How do the Netsilik Inuit use the resources in their

environment to survive?

It is late fall, and we are at the autumn river camp. We need to build a sled that will allow us to travel to the sea ice camp

for the winter months.

What requirements must the sled fulfill?

Use the resources available to you to build your sled:

With your group, you must come up with a way to make a sled that uses all of these materials. Record your ideas in either a

paragraph or a diagram.

When the weather becomes warm the Netsilik take apart their sled and recycle the

materials. Draw a diagram showing how each material was used in the sled, and how

it will be used in the warm weather.
