Product Overview Interoute offers Cloud Hosted Enterprise Lync at a fixed monthly price per user, giving you the ability to remove all requirements for PBX, desktop phones, on-site installation and maintenance.
Interoute’s high capacity, low latency pan-European network supports our Hosted Lync Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) which includes SIP trunking and video room integration.
The dedicated solution is fully virtualized so rapid service deployment is possible and it may be deployed into any one of Interoute’s Virtual Data Centres.
The solution includes unlimited Internet access for external guests and Lync clients connecting to the solution via the Internet.

Example Implementations Interoute Hosted Lync enables customers to keep their users connected everywhere, on devices running Windows as well as other operating systems such as iOS for Apple, as part of their everyday productivity experience.
Lync provides a consistent, single client experience for presence, instant messaging, voice, video and a great meeting experience.
Interoute Hosted Lync users can also connect to anyone using traditional video conferencing solutions such as those from Cisco and Polycom, enabling rich communication with colleagues, customers and suppliers around the world.
Organizations can purchase Interoute Hosted Lync as a standalone service or as part of a complete communication solution from Interoute. This can include MPLS based WAN connectivity, SIP trunking for outbound calls, Direct Dial Inward numbers for inbound call support, Video bridging services and dedicated video endpoints, and other hosted applications such as Hosted Exchange.
Organizations that subscribe to Interoute’s Hosted Lync retain control over the collaboration services they offer to users, but they do not have the operational burden of on-premises server software. These servers are housed in Interoute’s Virtual Data Centres and are accessible to users on a wide range of devices from inside a corporate network or over the Internet.
Technical Product Details Up to 5000 Lync users are supported in a standard instance setup configuration with Virtual Data Centre
enabled scalability to add additional server resource for potentially 10’s of thousands of users to be supported for a single customer
Users may have the Enterprise or Enterprise Plus Lync functionality.
Active directory synchronisation is supported as standard

Dependencies When deploying Hosted Lync in a separate resource domain, to synchronize users from the customer
Active Directory to Hosted Lync the customer must:
o Install a user synchronization software on every Domain Controller that user passwords may be changed on, not including read-only domain controllers. Interoute shall provide the synchronisation softwareⁱ.
o For non-Interoute IPVPN customers the synchronization software must have connectivity towards a public Interoute synchronization server IP address. Proxy environments are supported for this.
o For IPVPN customers Hosted Lync can be added as a new site on their IPVPN.
o The customer is responsible for distributing the Root certificate of the Lync resource domain to the Lync client PCs (applicable for IPVPN customers only when connecting directly to Lync Front End pool).
ⁱSynchronization tool intercepts user password changes, AES encrypts the user password and chosen attributes and sends them to the
Synchronization server to be written in the Resource forest Active Directory to enable single sign-on for users.
When deploying Hosted Lync directly on the Customer Active Directory domain (Direct Active Directory integration):
o Customer must be an IPVPN customer
o The Customer’s Active Directory domain functional level must be Windows 2003 or above
o Customer will be required to expand the Active Directory schema to support Lync 2013
o Customer will need to accept all the machines running Lync services to their domain
o There should be no previous deployment of Lync in the Customer domain, if a deployment exists, the deployment should be considered non-standard as it requires additional professional services
o Lync Users Distributed File System (DFS) and will require additions to any existing domain-based DFS configuration in the Customer domain
The customer is responsible for changes in their DNS.
