ELEGANTE DIMORA PALLADIANADEL XV SECOLO
ELEGANT XVI CENTURYPALLADIAN VILLA
A fare
Among the ancient villas located on the western slopes of the Euganei Hills, Regional Park of Veneto, this beautiful villa stands out for its sober fifteenth-century
elegance. It was originally part of a larger residential complex that included a chapel, a barn, the “gastaldo” house, the guest
House. and the dovecote. Over the centuries these structures were first abandoned and then removed. Today the villa displays the prestigious patrician architecture
with a rectangular plan, developed over three floors and covers a total surface of 1.210 m2. The fine Palladian portico of the XVI century, with seven white stone
columns that occupy the body on the southwest side of the residence, is just one example of Venetian architecture attributed to this time. The porch on the front
of the upper floor of the main building composed of five plastered brick columns with Ionic capitals and is another valuable example of the characteristic style of
the time. The porch is completely decorated and is reachable internally or from the park through a staircase with a simple but elegant balustrade with columns
in the stone of Vicenza. The interiors of the villa are tastefully decorated with beautiful frescoes of the Venetian School dated back to the XVI century and with
coffered ceilings with decorated wooden beams. Antique furniture and dressy accessories combine to create an elegant and exclusive atmosphere. To complete
this fascinating residence there are 5 hectares of ground partly cultivated with vineyards for the production of fine wines.

Già a partire dall’XI secolo A.C.

As early as the XI century BC Padua was one of the most important Roman colonies. In the following
century it became not only a free municipality, but also an important economic, cultural and religious
centre. The turning point of Padua is attributed to the XIII century when the University was founded and
the “Palazzo della Ragione” and the first surrounding walls were built. In the XIV century, under the
lordship of the Carrarese family, the city reached its highest political, military and cultural prestige and
in this period Padua drew in all the Italian artists. After being annexed to the Republic of Venice, Padua
changed its appearance again in the XVI century, with the construction of public buildings, churches and
new reinforced walls.
Padua still represents elegance and is enveloped by a medieval atmosphere showing its most charming
historical and artistic features. The cultural and commercial vitality of the city is seen many ways
including the Café Pedrocchi that was founded in 1831 and later became the favourite meeting place of
intellectuals and political supporters of the independence movement from Austria. Padua is an excellent
cultural center, giving rise to important people such as Pietro d’Abano the doctor, philosopher, scientist
and professor at Sorbonne.
Petrarca brought his love for Laura, Lovato Lovati and Galileo Galilei to the city. The presence of
excellent artists resulted in works such as Giotto’s cycle in the Scrovegni Chapel and dating to the XIV
century, the Duomo and the Baptistery with wall paintings by Giusto de’ Menabuoi, the complex of the
Saint with the wonderful works of Donatello in the XIV century and, in the Renaissance period, the work
of Titian and Andrea Mantegna in the Chapel Ovetari agli Eremitani.
