A POSITIVE OUTCOME IS POSSIBLE!

MCGILL’S PPA:- Full certification- In force for six years

Timing• Must submit your application by the

prescribed deadline– Note “re-application deadline” (90 days

prior to the “approval expiration date”) indicated on your PPA

– Start at least a month ahead of time– You should be prompted by a DoE

reminder– Don’t be late!

• McGill timeline:

March 31st

PPA expires

Sept 30th DoE reminder

Dec 31st Re-application deadline

Mid-Jan add’l requestsw/45 day deadline

Monthly provisional cert.

May 29th Review completePrompted to access PPA/ECAR

June 18th PPA signed

Process - Application• Electronic Application form

contains these key elements:– Institutional profile (OPE,

public/private, scope of programs,...)– Chief executive officers– Principle and other locations at

which educational programs are provided

– Tel/correspondence courses– Foreign medical school– Attestation of administrative

capability

Process - Application

• Had to then send by mail:– Application Signature page (President)– Copy of schools legal authorization to

award degrees– Proof of our Medical School accreditation– Program calendars

Process – Follow up• Had 45 days to provide:

– Return to Title IV policy– Institutional Refund policy– Admissions policy– Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy– Enrolment policies– Mature Student Policy– Study Abroad and Exchange Policy– ID programs with internship requirements– Copy of Default Management Plan– Proof of Consumer Information and student disclosure

distribution– Copies of written agreements with other institutions that

provide instruction– Foreign Medical School extras– Detailed use of “research stations”
