APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Apply to UNT through ApplyTexas or The CommonApp - July/August

2. Apply to the College of Music through Acceptd - September

3. Audition and/or submit portfolio

AUDITIONS

Auditions occur in January and February for fall semester admission

consideration.

AUDITION REPERTOIRE

All undergraduate applicants will perform the repertoire requirements listed

here:

DEADLINES

Applications and screening recordings, if applicable, are due the first

Monday in December each year. Applications received after that date will

be reviewed, and auditions will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis

depending on space availability.

Graduate academic degree program applicants should

email collegeofmusic@unt.edu to inquire about deadlines outside of the

normal admissions cycle.

Acceptance into the College of Music is contingent upon admission to the

AUDICIONES

Las audiciones ocurren en enero y febrero para consideración de admisión

en el semestre de otoño.

PLAZOS

Las inscripciones y pre-grabaciones (si necessario) vencen el primer lunes de

diciembre de cada año. Las inscripciones recibidas después de esa fecha

serán revisadas, y las audiciones se programarán caso por caso,

dependiendo de la disponibilidad de espacio.

Los postulantes del programa de estudios académicos de posgrado deben

enviar al collegeofmusic@unt.edu un correo electrónico para solicitar

información sobre los plazos fuera del ciclo normal de admisión.

Types of Financial Help Available for College:

➢ Grant: Money that normally is given on a basis of financial need and

generally it does not have to be paid back.

➢ Work study: Jobs that are half time with work and school. This

money is earned as you work, and you are in charge of finding a

work study job.

➢ Loans: Money that students will take out as a loan to help pay for

college. This money must be paid back after graduation, over the

course of several years, usually with interest.

➢ Scholarships: There are nonfederal scholarships that you can apply

for from the beginning of your postsecondary education until the

end. Every scholarship has different requirements and you can find

them in various locations/websites. It is recommended that you

complete the general scholarship application at the schools you are

interested in; complete the scholarships your high school counselor

promotes, and search for scholarships online searching

“scholarships” in google (or any search engine).

Tipos de Ayuda Disponible para el Colegio:

➢ Subvención: Dinero que normalmente se otorga basado en necesidad económica y generalmente no tiene que devolverse/pagarse.

➢ Empleo Estudiantil: Empleos a medio-tiempo de estudio y trabajo. Este dinero lo ganas mientras trabajas en la universidad y el estudiante es responsable por encontrar el trabajo.

➢ Préstamos: Dinero que el estudiante toma a préstamo para ayudar a pagar el colegio. Este dinero se paga en un transcurso de varios años, después de graduarse, usualmente con interés.

➢ Becas: Hay becas que no son federales para las cuales te puedes inscribir desde el principio hasta el fin de tus estudios postsecundarios. Cada beca tiene diferentes requisitos y se pueden buscar en varios lugares. Es recomendado que te inscribas en las becas del colegio en que estás interesado/a, las becas que promueven los consejeros en la preparatoria, y que busques también becas en línea, buscando “becas” en google.
