Knowler (B.A. 1932, M.S. 1934, Ph.D. 1937) used the following criteria. “The name of a former student who essentially completed the actuarial course is included whether he is or is not presently engaged in the actuarial profession. The name of a former student who is presently engaged in the actuarial profession is included whether he took the actuarial course or some other course at the University.” Meaning of year in parentheses: “If a person continued in the University after having completed the actuarial course, perhaps to complete the requirements for an advanced degree, then such date is given in parentheses.”
