Please take note of your exam subjects, time and venue
properly.
Week 15 Final
Examination
Bring your exam authorization slip to examination venues
together with student ID and IC.
Only examination index number will be used throughout the
entire examination.
Check the exam subjects, date, time and venue properly to
avoid unnecessary problems.

1. Important Reminders
1 Attendance
Attendance is compulsory. You need 80% of class
attendance to sit for final examination.
2 Leave
Application
Apply for leave at FGO whenever you are unable to attend
classes. Kindly have the courtesy to inform your lecturers
and tutors accordingly.
For sick leave, please submit your MC to FGO within 3
working days. Any late submission will not be processed.
3 Probation Status
You will be put under probation status if your GPA <
2.0000 for a trimester.
4 Termination
Status
You will be put under termination status if your GPA <
2.0000 and CGPA < 2.0000 in 2 consecutive trimesters.
Appeal against termination must be done within 1 week
after the release of exam results.
5 Safety and
Conduct
All students, especially cyclists, should take safety
precautions on the road.
Do not leave your valuables unattended. All valuables
should be kept properly and locked.
You are required to adhere to proper dress code whenever
you are in the UTAR campuses. Habitual offenders will be
sent for counseling or be barred from entering the campus.

3. Introduction to Foundation programme
Upon successful completion of the Foundation programme, students will proceed to Year 1 of the
corresponding UTAR Honours Degree programme.

Foundation consists of 2 programmes segregated into 4 Streams:

Duration : 1 year (max 2 yrs)

7. Probation & Termination
Probation Status
• Students are placed on academic probation if their GPA falls below 2.0000.
• A student on probation can take only a maximum of 12 credit hours (i.e. three subjects).
• The academic probation period shall end when the candidate has attained a GPA of 2.0000 and above
in the following trimester.
Termination Status
• Students with two consecutive probations (GPA < 2.0000) and also CGPA < 2.0000 will be
terminated.
• The notice of termination shall be sent to the candidate and sponsor, if any.

8. Course Transfer
What should I do if I wish to

Transfer To Different Stream Of Study
• You are required to apply for the course transfer in the first trimester itself.
• Applications are considered on a case-to-case basis
• The Course Transfer form is obtainable from the FGO – CFS PK
• Closing date – week 2 (Friday) - 23.01.2015

Successful applicants who wish to accept the course transfer are required to pay the course transfer fee
(compulsory)
Transfer to Same Stream Of Study
• You may apply for course transfer in the final trimester of your Foundation Programme.
• Applications are considered on a case-to-case basis
• The Course Transfer form is obtainable from the FGO – CFS PK
Successful applicants who wish to accept the course transfer are required to pay the course transfer fee
(compulsory)
9. Campus Transfer
• A campus transfer occurs when a student wishes to apply for a change of his campus of study.
• it is subject to availability of places
• Applicants are required to submit the completed form to the FGO – CFS PK
• closing date – week 2 (Friday) - 23.01.2015
10. Academic Advisory System
• The purpose of Academic Advisory System is to create a systematic channel of communication
for students to have academic discussions with their academic advisors.
• Students should ensure that they meet up with their adviser at the least once a Trimester.
• Students who do not meet their academic advisor before the pre-registration period, will not be
allowed to pre-register for any units the following trimester.
• Students are advised to see their academic advisor before Week 7.

11. Some General Rules & Regulations
• Class attendance – compulsory (minimum 80%)
• Punctuality – habitual latecomers will be penalized
• Academic advisory system – meet your academic advisor at least once per trimester
• Leave application – go to FGO to get a leave form, fill up the form and submit together with
your MC/documents in 3 working days.
• Adhere to UTAR dress code
• Take caution on road – especially cyclists
• Do not leave your valuables unattended
• Class replacement – with lecturer’s permission
• Cheating in exam or test would be suspended from study.
• Cleanliness in UTAR campuses.
• Energy & water saving

• Study consistently 2 hours every day, be attentive in class
• Be responsible
- Don’t skip classes, especially after Barred-list
- Ask and consult lecturers
- Do tutorials and try out PY Qs
• Be contributive, helpful & mindful and enjoy your studies
• Have a healthy campus life style
• Speak English
• Practice healthy life style
When facing problems….
• You MUST approach your
lecturers/tutors/academic advisor/HOD
• Approach courteously, not arrogantly.
• The earlier you approach, the higher the chances that the problems can be attended to though
may not be resolved totally.
