What is communication?

• Communication is define as various methods of sending information between people and places, especially official system such as post systems, radios, television, newspapers.

• In communication, there are on two parties involved and that is the RECEIVER & SENDER.

• It is very important that the message is understood by the person receiving the message.

Business communication refers to the process where the business person makes known his or her goods and services available on the market to the public.

The four basic elements of communication that make up the process of communication.

1. An Information source or sender This refers to the person producing the message. 2. A Transmitter This refers to a device or equipment which encodes the message into signals or signs.3. A Channel or Medium This refers to signal adapted for transmission. Adapt means to change and make suitable something.

4. A Receiver or the destinationThis refers to a person or device that decodes the message from the signal. Decode

means to receive message and give back response.

1. Verbal Communication Method Verbal Communication refers to communication where messages are exchanged by word of mouth and reading written information. For instance, speaking and written messages, signs and symbols.

2. Non-Verbal Communication Method Non-Verbal Communication refers to the kind of communication where messages or information are exchanged without the use of words. For instance, people‟s actions, body language or appearance.
