Trusting the DoD ECA PKI in Firefox.

To trust the ECA PKI in Firefox open Mozilla Firefox

1. Go to :http://eca.orc.com/trust_navigator.html

2. Save the ECA Root CA 2 file to your computer by clicking the “Click Here”

Button

Then select Save File

Firefox may „force‟ you to save the file in a folder called “Downloads” ; if not

you may select the location to save the file(s)

You might see this when the file is done downloading…

3. Back on the web page, save the ORC ECA SW3 Certificate Authority file to your

computer by clicking the “Click Here” Button

Again, select Save File

Save it to the same location as the last file.

4. Back on the web page, save the ORC ECA HW3 Certificate Authority file to

your computer by clicking the “Click Here” Button

Again, select Save File

Save it to the same location as the other files.

5. On the Mozilla Firefox toolbar, select Tools, Options

6. In the Options dialog, select the Advanced icon, the Encryption tab, and click the

View Certificates button.

7. In the Certificate Manager, select the Authorities tab and then the Import button.

8. In the Select File containing CA certificate(s) to import dialog, navigate to the

location where you saved the files, then select the “ECA-Root2.cer” file, then

click the Open button

9. In the Downloading Certificate dialog, check all 3 check boxes and click the OK

button

10. Back in the Certificate Manager, click the Import button again.

11. In the Select File containing CA certificate(s) to import dialog, navigate to the

location where you saved the files, then select the “ECA-SW3.cer” file, then click

the Open button

12. In the Downloading Certificate dialog, check all 3 check boxes and click the OK

button

13. Back in the Certificate Manager, click the Import button again.

14. In the Select File containing CA certificate(s) to import dialog, navigate to the

location where you saved the files, then select the “ECA-HW3.cer” file, then click

the Open button

15. In the Downloading Certificate dialog, check all 3 check boxes and click the OK

button

16. In the Certificate Manager, scroll down to the U.S. Government section and

ensure the “ECA Root CA 2”, “ORC ECA SW3”, and “ORC ECA HW3” entries

are there.

You are finished Trusting the ORC ECA Certificate Authority.
