Transfer Student Services: Best Practices
Why change?
• Increase “new” students to your institution
• Increase persistence and graduation rates
• Reduce barriers
• Provide appropriate, “person-specific” entry and support services
• Not a new phenomena . . . this “trend” has been here for decades
And if that isn’t enough . . . providing services for transfer students may help avoid legislative intervention.

• At what institutions are your students concurrently enrolled?
• Why do students transfer out of your institution?
