Introduction

● Founded in 1991 by Arup, Swarup Ghosh ● Started with 17 students ● Projects in 3 states: West Bengal, Chattisgarh, and

Jharkhand● 12 active projects● ~8000 students supported each year

Mother Project Overview

● Started in Dharmadas Trust Model School in 1995 in collaboration with KMC

● Objective: Remedial educational support to first learners in a family 📚

● What is an SSA school?

SSA School means ''Sharva Shiksha Mission School'' ( Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Hindi: सव श ा अ भयान, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyān, English: Education for All Movement), or SSA, is an Indian Government programme aimed at the universalisation of elementary education "in a time bound manner", as mandated by the 86th Amendment to the Constitution of India making free and compulsory education to children between the ages of 6 to 14 a fundamental right. The programme was pioneered by former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee).

they attend?

Yes, all students go to a government school

● Is the Mother Project a remedial school/after school program in addition to day school or is it a bridge school/ the only school students go to?

Mother Project is an Evening Remedial Coaching Center

Questions● Can we get details about what happens with the funds we provide?

Other than this we conduct various activities for the children of Mother Project like Chart Making, Drawing Competition, Reading, Writing, Comprehension & Numeric Skills Development etc. along with Cultural Classes like Singing, Dancing, Yoga etc.

● Will you please let us know which students from last year are we continuing to support this year? It would be good to know what the overlap is.

Mother Project (MP) is the first and oldest project of Tomorrow’s Foundation (TF) which was started in Dharmadas Trust Model School (DTMS) in collaboration with KMC (Kolkata Municipal Corporation) in 1995.
