How many times have you decided to clean out your storage only to realize that many of your items won’t fit into your trash can? The Police Jury has your solution with our new Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers.

Located on the eastern and western portions of the parish, Calcasieu residents can take their solid waste that is normally too large to place in residential bins to one of two parish drop-off facilities. The Convenience Centers are open to all parish residents with a valid driver’s license. There is no additional cost for this service.

• Over90%of thenation’swetlandlossisinLouisiana. We’relosing land faster than anywhere else in the world. Nearly 2300 square miles of land, an area the size of the state of

delaware, has subsided or eroded in coastal Louisiana in the last century.

Louisiana is booming with growth, but our coastline is shrinking. We have one of the busiest port systems in the nation, yet we’re losing the battle against coastal erosion. Consider these facts:

If we don’t stop coastal erosion now, it will be a reality.

Hard to imagine, isn’t it?

animal shelters across the country, both public and private, are faced with an incredible burden: approximately 3.7 million animals are euthanized at shelters each year, due to the overpopulation of dogs and cats. having your pet spayed or neutered ensures that you will not be adding to this serious problem.
