1. What’s its name?The monument is the angel of Uzupis

2. Where is it located?It is located in Vilnius, Capital of Lithuania, situated in the old streets of Lithuania in a central square called Paupio.

3. When was it built?On April 4th 2001

4. Why was it built?

It was built to replacethe monument that was before the sculpture of the angel was put in place; a temporary sculpture of an egg. The egg became the subject of much talk, and there are many anecdotes attached to it.

5. What was happening on the country-village on those years?

The egg was removed to make way for the largest statue, the egg was sold at an auction for 10,200 litas.

6. What does it represent?

In the republic of Uzupis sometimes is called republic of the angels since it is intended to symbolize the revival and artistic freedom in the district.
