The Saga of Reginald

Backstory

• Christine loves cats, and always tells everyone about her work at shelters, and how she rescues cats.

.

OMG, I love cats. I caught a feral one the other day and took it home. Pawmetto Life Line, blah blah blah.

Tuesday

• Allison and Salem decide to go for a walk outside.

Hey Salem, do you want to go for a walk?

Yes.

While they are walking by the parking garage, they see the birds go bananas!!

Oh my Gah! Look at those birds! They are going bananas!

Then Salem sees a cat jump out of the trash can!

Aww! They were beating up a cat!!!! And he’s a nice cat!

That cat looks sick. Don’t touch it. I’ll go get Christine.

Meow!!!

So, while Salem let’s the filthy cat rub all over her….

.

We found a cat.

Did you catch it?

No, I came and got you.

Uhhh…? I guess I’ll get a box. I have cat treats in the car.

Christine goes outside and gets the cat.

Here kitty, get in the box. There are cat treats inside.

Meow!

She puts the box in the backseat, and drives to the vet.

The next day, I get this email.Allison, I don't know how to get in touch w/you but maybe Salem has. The kitty (who is a boy

apparently so we can't call him Salem or Ally) has ringworm. I missed the vet's call at 6:37 because I was outside cleaning out the diarrhea from the back of my car...

What I understand is ringworm is contagious and you should wash any clothes that touched the cat's

skin. The lady I spoke with said it's not highly likely from the contact we had that we'd catch it, but people can catch it too. He was so sweet and rubbed all over me at the clinic, including on my face...

The good news is he was FIV and FLV negative, so once he's treated hopefully we'll be able to find

someone to adopt him. I am going to call them (ended up all the way at Dutch Fork, which I made in record time btw) when they open at 8 and hopefully will get the vet on the phone. I have no idea what the next steps are, I'm just glad they kept him overnight.

Any ideas on a name to give him for his file? :) I also wanted to thank you both for caring enough to not just ignore him. I wonder how many people

saw him and did nothing. We may have saved that cat's life.

So I’m like this, because I didn’t touch the cat, nor did I put it in my car

YESSSSSSSs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

And then I named him Reginald.

The End
