Standard 6: Contribution to Academic Success
• Are students better off for knowing you or attending our school?
• Based on EOG, EOC or MSL• Either individual or school-wide data is utilized
– What is the state implicitly saying when it uses school wide data for teachers that do not currently have individual data?
• All teachers will have a standard 6 rating from this year on– Official start of Standard 6 rating will be at end of this year
Standard 6; Contribution to Academic Success
• All teachers employed in 2011-12 will have a rating for Standard 6 (~September, 2012)– Students data from 2011-12 will be used– These standard 6 results will not be used in calculating
3-year rolling average for Teacher Effectiveness. You can look at is as a “Dry Run”
• Student achievement results from 2012-13 will be used as first official data for all teachers to determine rating for Standard 6
Teacher Effective Status (In Need of Improvement, Effective & Highly Effective)
• Status is determined by a combination of performance on first 5 standards and growth on standard 6
• A single overall status is determined once a teacher has 3 years of growth data to populate standard 6 and a rolling average can be calculated.
• Performance rating on the 5 standards for the 3rd year of the rolling average are used
• Data from 2012-13 will be the 1st year of official data for all teachers for standard 6
• First year for Status report is fall 2015
