National Kidney Foundation

is an NGO, a non-profit, charitable organisation founded

in 1969.

operates 28 dialysis centres nationwide, except in

Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.

1,500 patients being treated in our dialysis centres

To be a one-stop National Resource Centre for the prevention

and treatment of kidney disease

In line with this vision, NKF has set-up a dedicated Resource

Centre in Petaling Jaya to cater to the needs of the public on

matters related to the kidneys and kidney disease.

- Dialysis Assistants course

- Renal Nursing Post Basic course

- All NKF dialysis centres are fully licensed by the Ministry

of Health Malaysia

NKF LifeCheck Mobile Health Screening Unit

• Established in 2008

• 3 units (2 in HQ, 1 in Alor Setar)

• 7 staff in a team – to run health screening

• Full capacity per team 80-100/day (10am-4pm) with I hour lunch break

• ≥ 600 screening days/year

• General public ≥ 18 yr except pregnant women.

• General public especially those who are at risk of CKD/one who has the following factor:

– Diabetes – Hypertension – Family history of diabetes/hypertension/kidney disease – Kidney stone – Disease such as Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis/other genetic

disorder – Obesity – Above 50 yrs old – On long term pain killers – Tertiary and secondary school students

kidney problems or UTI. Blood in the

urine may be sign of kidney disease.
