Intro
I read a poem called the monsters pet, in which I am analyzing. I have identified my first observations, why I liked the poem and what kind of rhymes and patterns were in it.
Welcome to the Intro!
First Observations
My first observation or reaction was noting the first verse, as it was the only one of its kind in the whole poem. All the lines had a kind of "Et" at the end of the poem, and the second and last verses were different. I also noticed that I felt like the author was describing the monster, not the pet.
PatternThe pattern in this poem was varied from the different verses. The first verse, as I explained, rhymed at every line in the exact same way. The second verse rhymed at every second line and the first and third lines did not rhyme with each other. The third verse was also quite similar.
Rhymes and Sound
In the second verse, sounds were used to imitate what a monster or monsters pet would sound like and the author mixed these into a rhyme.
What I liked about the poem
I liked how the author made the reader think about how it sounded more like he was describing a monster, and also making the reader think what the pet could be, and I found this interesting and making the poem fun to read.
What I learned
I learned about new ways to create rhymes and new patterns, and ways to use onomatopoeia to express ideas in a poem.
Thank you for watching, much
appreciated.
