Final dataThese final data tables represent the outcomes after the close of the assessment session. It includes any changes due to Enquiries upon Results and where results have completed from late school submission of information.
If you have feedback on this statistical bulletin please email support@ibo.org.
Context for the May 2020 Statistical BulletinIn the first few months of 2020 the COVID-19 outbreak became a pandemic leading to schools being closed and the exceptional decision was taken to cancel the May 2020 examinations worldwide.Instead the IB used the available evidence from teacher on the student achievement; the marked coursework* that the student had already completed, the predicted grade from the teacher and evidence on how these two pieces of data usually related to final grades for each school.
On the 17th August 2020, based on feedback received from the reviews (https://www.ibo.org/news/news-about-the-ib/covid-19-coronavirus-updates/) the IB updated the grades issued in July. This statistical bulletin represents the data at the end of this cycle after these revisions were made. Given the exceptional circumstances around May 2020, reflected in the cancellation of examinations at short notice and the worldwide disruption to teaching and learning experienced by students, the May 2020 data will not form part of the ongoing time series of data which the IB uses to maintain standards and may not appear in future statistical bulletins.
*All students has at least one piece of work marked in each subject (except further Mathematics) externally marked by the IB this session
