• To provide reliable, fundamental information to policy makers

• To provide science-based evidence to international agencies

• To lay out investment opportunities to donors

GABAR programmeProgramme goal: Bamboo and rattan significantly contribute to national socio-economic development, environmental protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation through optimizing the potential of bamboo and rattan

GABAR objective 1 INBAR Member States have better information on bamboo and rattan resources and resource development for formulation of policy, development strategy and action plans

Result 1 Bamboo and rattan resource database established for Member States

Result 2 Bamboo and rattan cultivation and management knowledge documented

Result 3 Bamboo and rattan products and processing technology information established

GABAR objective 2 Enhance knowledge of bamboo and rattan’s contributions to climate change mitigation, adaptation, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy

Result 1 Bamboo’s potential for climate change mitigation and adaptation understood

Result 2 Knowledge of bamboo and rattan’s ecosystem services documented
