Thanksgiving: The Road Less Travelled

Luke 17:11-19

We have lost our emotional intelligence in the age of

smart phones

We have become a culture of narcissists

We are so busy and self-absorbed, it has become increasingly difficult to make time to genuinely praise God for the blessings He pours out into our lives

Ingratitude is not a new problem

Luke 17:11-19

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

Luke 17:11-19

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?

Luke 17:11-19

18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Luke 17:11-19

Why should we march down the road less travelled to offer thanks and praise to

God?

Tebowing

TEBOWING

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

Philippians 2:5-11

TEBOWING

Philippians 2:5-11

7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!

TEBOWING

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

TEBOWING

11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.,

Philippians 2:5-11

We take great joy in the incarnation of Christ, but neglect the ramifications of the incarnation in His exaltation
