Shot 1 •Low angle shot-makes character appear dominant and powerful.

•Handheld shot as he is running

•Pans out to mid shot of scene to expose mise-en-scene.

•Mise-en-scene-dark woods, thunder and lightening, typical of a horror film.

•Non-diegetic sound-fast paced music score using ‘masculine’ instruments i.e. Drums

•Diegetic-heavy breathing

Shot 2 Bird’s eye view shot of female character-makes her appear fragile and weak

Pans round to eye line shot of male, followed by zoom out to a mid shot.

Non-diegetic sound-music turns slow and eery as male searches slowly for female as she hides behind a tree

Diegetic- man heavy breathing, female quiet sobs

Shot 3 Medium shot which zooms in on male’s face in a close up when he reaches the tree

This is followed by a shot reverse shot of the two characters when he finds her

Diegetic-after shot reverse shot, woman screams and sound is bridged in to the beginning of the next shot.

Shot 4 Medium handheld tracking shot as the woman runs

Non-diegetic-music increases again to fast paced more powerful music-implies she’s gaining confidence.

Diegetic-heavy breathing which matches the male character’s breathing pace.

Shot 5Medium shot zooms out to long shot so male appears in frame again.

Shot reverse shot as man catches up

Shot 6Medium shot of man capturing woman

Zooms in as man slaps woman

Birds eye view shot as she falls to the floor

Non-diegetic sound-fast paced music increases in pace when she struggles against manAll music stops as she falls to floor

Foley sound emphasises slap and thud to floor

Diegetic-screaming and grunting from man as she struggles

Shot 7Bird’s eye view shot of girl within body bag

Zooms out as scene ends

Non-diegetic sound-slow, sad music score

No diegetic sound except howling wind.
