}  Building community by establishing, enhancing or renewing relationships

}  Communicating news and information to your constituents in a timely manner

}  Communicating shared values to constituents }  Branding the organization, its mission,

values, achievements to a wider audience }  Encouraging support – volunteerism,

fundraising }  Driving traffic to organization’s website

}  Finding a forum to self-promote }  Belly aching }  Advertising a member’s business }  Attacking the music director }  Attacking one or more members of the

boosters organization }  Confessing past wrongs, apologizing – drama

at its finest

}  Determine social media platform and “cultivate.”

}  No promotional “fluff” allowed (aka, “I had a tuna salad sandwich for lunch!”)

}  Determine and target audience/s to enhance or establish and enhance relationships.

}  Include local media outlets. }  If successful with first social media platform,

consider adding a second one

}  Prepare an agreed upon social media policy. }  Continually remind yourself it’s about

cultivating relationships! }  Use “Followers” and “Friends” as opportunities

for additional contact in different venues. }  Use photos and video as additional

opportunities to communicate and market your organization.

}  Develop design consistency to establish and enhance the brand.

}  Determine account administrators – preferably 2-3 including the music director.

}  Personal conflicts between an administrator and booster should not result in one being “blocked.” Personal dramas not allowed!

}  Have fun and communicate! Remember, we’re advocating, communicating, sharing, encouraging
