Through Bolt AnchorsTorque Controlled Expansion Anchor
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET:
The Through Bolt is a permanent torque controlled anchor, using an expansion clip over a tapered working
end to achieve high capacity loading. The Through Bolt diameter is equal to the required drill hole making drill
selection easy and straight forward.
On installation the anchor uses its design to expand the clip against the hole wall pulling the body upwards
whilst clamping the fixture.
The Through Bolt can be used in a wide variety of applications with is availability from M8 to M20 in stain-
less steel or electroplated zinc plating and hot dipped galvanised carbon steel.

Featuring a reduced section on the length of the thread prevents damage when anchor is tapped into its embedment.
Designed as a torque controlled expansion anchor provides a min-imal effort upon install with easy torque setting into concrete and masonry base material.
The expansion clip features an-ti-rotation dimples and are made from heavy duty stainless steel for maximum corrosion protection.

PERFORMANCE DATAAdmissible working loads are based on standard spacing and edge distances.
SETTING
BMT
Spacing
Edge Distance
Base Material Thickness (BMT) There is a recommended minimum thickness of the solid base material that the anchor can be set in. The minimum is based on 1.5 times of the calculated embedment to be used.
SpacingThe anchor diameter is equal to the drill diameter which elimnates the need for hole plotting or layout. As the anchor can be spaced using the fixture the maximum load in tension or shear can be achieved by spacing anchors 10 times the selected diameter. This spacing can be reduced but the load value should also be reduced, see table below.
Edge Distance for Tension Should be determined by 12 times the selected anchor diameter to obtain the maximum load in tension. The recommended minimum spacing is 5 times the selected anchor diameter. In tension – reducing the edge distance to the minimum, the load value will reduce by 20%.

INSTALLATION1. Drill or core a hole to the recommended diameter and depth using the fixture as a tem-
plate. Clean the hole thoroughly removing debris with a hand pump, compressed air, or vacuum.
2. Insert the Through Bolt through the fixture and tap it into the hole until the nut and wash-er are in contact against the fixture. Ensure the anchor is embeded to the required depth.
3. Tighten the nut with a torque wrench to the specified assembly torque amount from a finger tighten position.
Edge Distance for Shear Should be determined by 12 times the selected anchor diameter to obtain the maximum load in shear. The recommended minimum spacing is 5 times the selected anchor diameter.
In shear – reducing the edge distance to the minimum, the load value will reduce by 50%.
