DESCRIPTION

Trying to keep up with too many tweets? Ever felt guilty of providing learners with too many interesting links? Baffled by the array of notifications settings to choose from? This workshop will look at efficient ways of managing the increased flow of online information and offer practical suggestions on “information management” for all educators interested in using the web for their own professional development or for blended learning programmes. A range of web tools (Diigo, Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Netvibes, English360) as well as tips on how to choose custom settings, personal dashboards and filters will be shared. During the session we will look at • Collecting & monitoring your favourite blogs, links and online discussions;• Spreading messages & important tweets;• Organising tabs, highlighting & remembering essential bits of the web.Hope the slides help to find out how to use the web to retrieve, share and access interesting stuff and cut down on the hours you spend looking for things!

I find it again

when I need it(Interesting) Online “information”

I find it again when I need it.

I feel overwhelmed by the amount of it.

When I find it, I share it.

I feel I don’t have enough time for it.

I collect and store it.

I filter it.

I sometimes feel lost.
