Sydney Olympic Park successfully hosted the 2000 Olympic Games and is now a large and diverse urban park covering 640 hectares with major sporting and entertainment venues, a commercial business park and 425 hectares of parklands.

Apart from its ultra-modern sport venues, the Olympic Park is set in extensive parklands. Bicentennial Park, one of Sydney’s most popular recreational areas and picnic spots, is cress-crossed with walking and bicycle tracks.

With 9 major sporting, event and entertainment venues and parks, Sydney Olympic Park is Australia's most important and diverse urban precinct surrounded by one of the largest urban parklands in the world.

Each year more than 8.2 million visitors come to Sydney Olympic Park to enjoy the wide range of leisure, entertainment, cultural, sporting and educational activities

These light towers run along Olympic Boulevard at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay. Each tower feature a commemorative plaque for one of the cities that have held Summer Olympic Games in the modern era, such as the first Olympics in Athens 1898, Paris 1900 & 1924 and Munich 1972.

Acer Arena is a large entertainment and sporting complex situated in Sydney Olympic Park, and was completed in 1999 as part of the facilities for the 2000 Summer Olympics.

The arena was originally known as the Sydney SuperDome until 11 May 2006, when Acer Inc., a Taiwan-based multinational computer technology and electronics corporation purchased the naming rights

Nearly 1,800 events are held at the Park each year including Australia's biggest event - the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show at Sydney Showground.

The Park also plays host to over 40 different sports each year, both at professional and amateur levels. Such as NRL and ARL games at ANZ Stadium, the Medibank International at the Tennis Centre, the National Australian Swimming Championships at the Aquatic Centre and the National Athletics Championships at the Athletic Centre.

ANZ Stadium is known for its hallowed turf, hosting major sporting events and outdoor concerts, seating up to 83,000 people. But the venue is so much more - with 16 function rooms catering for the smallest events of 20 up to an impressive 1,500.

Since opening in 1999, ANZ Stadium has been the scene of a host of sensational sporting moments. From the spectacular Olympic opening ceremony to Jonny Wilkinson’s unforgettable drop goal to win the Rugby World Cup, the Stadium holds a special place in the hearts of sports fans throughout the world.

During the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, the cauldron was alight on the northern end of the Olympic stadium. After the Olympic Games, the cauldron was converted into a fountain and relocated to Overflow Park at Sydney Olympic Park.

It can also still be reignited for special occasions, including the duration of Olympic Games held at other sites such as Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008.

The Attractor is a monument in Overflow Park at Sydney Olympic Park. This 25 meter ladder symbolizes the fundamental principles of Olympism which also apply to human endeavors. It was inspired by an illustration in a book by seventeenth century metaphysicist Robert Fludd.

The six rungs of the ladder bear a word, from the lowest rung upwards: sensus, imaginatio, ratio, intellectus, intelligentia, verbum.

Discobolus, is a monument located in Stockroute Park that links the Sydney Olympic Park site to the Olympic Games in Ancient Greece.

The steel discus measures seven metres in diameter, with a mid section made of armour plated glass featuring images of a discus thrower.
