Swachh Bharat Mission

In pursuance of the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by

the Government of India in 2014, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College has

implemented the cleanliness drive of Swachh Bharat Clean Campus Initiative. In

connection with this drive, the faculty and students of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami

College regularly conduct mass cleaning campaigns and also actively participate in

the various programmes instituted by the Ministry of Human Resource and

Development. Effective garbage collection is ensured in the campus by collecting

and segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. The Vermiculture

unit in the campus converts the in-campus garden litter into useful organic

fertilizer vermicompost which is used as manure in the mulberry garden

maintained in the campus for sericulture.

The Students of Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College took up the project of

Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme (SBSI-2018) from 2nd July to 22nd

July2018 in order to promote cleanliness, better sanitation practices and open

defecation free environment in Somarasanpettai, Keelavayalur, Siruvayalur,

Veeranginallur and Vadagaputhur village .
