Join Us for the 2014 Summer Course

Marine Ecosystems _____________________________________________________________

Students will explore marine ecosystems and learn about marine biologStudents will explore marine ecosystems and learn about marine biology. We will investigate how organisms have adapted to polar, temperate and tropical waters and what challenges animals encounter in surface waters, coastal intertidal areas and in the deep ocean. Students will learn about these different ocean envi-ronments and what major animal kingdoms have adapted to live there. This is a field trip intensive class and we will be off campus almost every day. Students are required to bring a packed lunch, sunscreen, sturdy footwear and money for the entrance fees of various exhibits.

Highlights of the week will include our visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific (including a behind the scenes tour through the dive locker; $14), tide-pooling and whale watching ($20).
