How to get your local in financial trouble

1. Don’t verify that the right amount of dues is being withheld.2. Don’t send your membership changes to IEA Membership Processing.3. Don’t review your changes for accuracy after they are made.4. Don’t send the billing statement to the treasurer for payment.5. Don’t periodically match your school dues deduction list to your IEA

member roster.

Late Fees

• 30-day grace period• 2% per month• Example:– Payment of $10,000 is due November 1. – If not paid by December 1, penalty of $200.00 is charged

Waiving Late Fees

• Get all payments caught up• Set controls so payments won’t be late in future• Email Doug Barringer, doug.barringer@ieanea.org, to request– Explain why payment was late and what has been done to assure

payments aren’t late in the future• Don’t regularly be late making payments!

Changes after end of membership year

• Send to Membership Processing – Mark for LAST year

• Notify treasurer– Reopens account for last year?

Continuous Roster• Mark through members not returning this year• Update demographics– Name, address, telephone, etc.

• Fee payer to member? Member to fee payer?• Part time to full time? Full time to part time?• Leaves of absence?• Colored ink
