UCAS

• All applications to study in the UK use the University and College Admissions Service known as UCAS.

• UCAS is where you search for a course, make the online application and track your progress.

• The URL of the website is http://www.ucas.com

Application Dates

1st September – 15th October

• Applications to either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge.

• Applications to study Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine at ALL other UK universities.

1st September – 15th January

• The first due date for all other applications is always 15th January.

• Applications received after this date are still accepted but may not be given equal consideration.

UCAS Overview

• Applicants are allowed five choices.

• UCAS guarantees invisibility of application.

• There are four parts to the application:i. Online application formii. Personal statementiii. Predicted gradesiv. Teacher recommendation

• The same application is received by all your chosen colleges and universities at the same time.

Choosing A Course

• For IB diploma students, your choice of university will be heavily influenced by your predicted grades.

• For IB certificate students, it will normally be necessary to take a foundation year before beginning an undergraduate degree.

• Information about course requirements can be found on the UCAS website.
