steps for adding sitemap to webmaster tool

How to submit sitemap.xml url of your website to webmaster tool?

1) Go to the url https://www.google.com/webmaster/tools/

Enter your login details .

2) Click on Search Console you will get following screen

3) Enter the url of your website and click on add a property :

After adding the property you will get the following screen, follow the four steps in which i) We have to download the html verification file given by Google

ii) After downloading the verification file ,it has to be uploaded to the server:

iii) Check whether the Google verification file is uploaded on the server

iv) Then after verifying the whole process you will get the following screen

4) Click on search console again you will get a preview of your website. Then click on view details :

5) Click on Submit a sitemap

6) Click on ADD/Test Sitemap button

7) Then add the name of your sitemap file after the suggested url as sitemap.xml and click on submit

8) Click on refresh

9) Your sitemap.xml file is uploaded and you will get to see the details of the number of web pages you have

submitted
